Madrid historic parks to close due to high winds

The Madrid City Council has announced the closure of El Retiro and five other historic parks starting at 18:00 this Friday due to adverse weather conditions. The decision follows forecasts from the State Meteorological Agency (AEMET), which predicts wind gusts of up to 71 kilometers per hour.

In addition to El Retiro, the closures affect El Capricho, the Rosaleda del Parque del Oeste, Quinta de Fuente del Berro, Quinta de los Molinos, and Quinta Torre Arias.

Authorities plan to reopen the spaces once they have assessed potential damage to trees and completed necessary maintenance. Reopening is expected to occur on Saturday, with updates provided via official communication channels and information panels at park entrances.
