Madrid historical institutes open for Science and Innovation Week
As part of the XXVI Science and Innovation Week, the Community of Madrid is offering 40 guided tours and 600 free spots at three of the region's most iconic historical educational institutes: Cardenal Cisneros, Cervantes, and San Isidro.
Running from November 16 to 27, these visits aim to showcase valuable collections and historical cabinets, including traditional laboratories, school museums, and Natural History cabinets. Participants will have access to restricted spaces to view scientific instruments, anatomical models, fossils, and minerals that illustrate the evolution of teaching and research in the capital.
IES Cardenal Cisneros, founded in 1845, will host 20 guided tours with 300 available spots, highlighting its Natural History cabinet which includes pieces originally provided by the National Museum of Natural Sciences, alongside significant botany, zoology, and mineralogy collections.
