Madrid hosts 10th Profession Day to guide students toward various careers

The 10th edition of the ‘Día de las Profesiones’ (Profession Day) was held in Madrid, organized by the Unión Interprofesional de la Comunidad de Madrid (UICM). The event, hosted at the Real Jardín Botánico Alfonso XIII, aims to introduce students from secondary school, vocational training, and university levels to various career paths and the services provided by professional colleges.

Approximately 40 different professions participated in the event. Sigfrido Herráez, dean of the Colegio Oficial de Arquitectos de Madrid (COAM) and vice president of the UICM, highlighted the importance of architects in addressing urban challenges such as housing and rehabilitation.

The Colegio Oficial de Farmacéuticos de Madrid (COFM) also participated, offering information on pharmacy career opportunities and providing practical health services to visitors, including blood pressure measurements and nutritional advice. The UICM represents 46 professional colleges and nearly 400,000 registered professionals across sectors such as health, law, engineering, and economics.
