Madrid hosts exhibition of 72 architectural dome models
The Clara del Rey Cultural Center in Madrid is hosting ‘Maquetas de Cúpulas. Techos de Madrid’, an exhibition by artist Antonio Muñoz Martín. The showcase features 72 handmade reproductions of the city’s architectural elements, including domes, spires, tower finishes, and building corners.
Designed to allow visitors to observe architectural details typically only visible from a distance, the pieces are crafted from materials such as cardboard, cardstock, paper, white glue, and acrylic paint. The collection also includes glazed stoneware ceramic models finished with enamels and metal oxides.
District Councilor Carlos Segura inaugurated the exhibition, emphasizing the importance of bringing culture and heritage closer to residents through creative historical knowledge. The exhibition is free to the public and will run until October 31, open Monday through Saturday from 9:00 to 21:00.
