Madrid hosts Madre Coraje photography exhibition on water conservation
The COAJ Hontalbilla center in Madrid will host the photography exhibition ‘Cuidar lo que nos da vida’ throughout October. Promoted by the Madre Coraje Foundation, the exhibition focuses on water defense, territory protection, and the role of citizens in building sustainable communities.
The exhibition is part of the ‘Ichu Mayu Llaqta’ project, a collaborative effort between the Institute for Development and Environment (IDMA) and the Madre Coraje Foundation, supported by the Madrid City Council. The project addresses the environmental emergency of the Ichu River in the Huancavelica region of Peru, which suffers from severe contamination.
Through this initiative, stakeholders are working to restore the river's environment, train public authorities in environmental management, implement municipal recycling, and create economic opportunities for women and youth through green entrepreneurship and eco-businesses.
