Madrid infrastructure: Arco Verde completion and major roadworks

Various infrastructure and environmental projects are underway across the Madrid region and Valencia. In Madrid, the ‘Arco Verde’ environmental project has been completed, connecting 25 municipalities through 262 kilometers of routes to improve natural connectivity.

Roadwork updates include the removal of a provisional bypass on the A-5 highway between Los Yébenes and San Manuel, which will restore the original straight path and improve traffic flow as part of the highway's tunneling works. Additionally, five bridges on the M-45 are undergoing a 730,000-euro renovation, and the Calle de Alcalá is seeing lane reconfigurations to accommodate a new central promenade.

In Valencia, the Ministry of Transport has awarded a 3.7-million-euro contract to improve the A-3 and A-7 interchange to reduce congestion. Meanwhile, in Ciudad Real, over 119,000 euros will be invested to repair rural roads damaged by previous weather events.

In the social sphere, political groups in Madrid are debating the future of the Estadio de Vallecas, advocating for the preservation of the stadium's social character and opposing private management.
