Siemens to invest 160 million euros in new Madrid smart campus

Siemens has announced plans to invest 160 million euros by 2028 to develop a new smart campus in Madrid. Located in the Las Tablas area near the Madrid Nuevo Norte development, the 22,000-square-meter complex will serve as the company’s Spanish headquarters.

The project focuses on sustainability and technological advancement, incorporating renewable energy sources such as photovoltaics and electric vehicle charging networks. The initiative aims to strengthen Madrid’s position as an industrial and technological hub, supported by Invest in Madrid.

Separately, the Community of Madrid is implementing various social and educational investments. This includes a 1.24 billion euro plan to improve climate control, energy efficiency, and accessibility in public schools, benefiting over one million students. Additionally, the regional government has expanded aid for unemployed youth training by adjusting income thresholds and increasing grant amounts for those with fewer resources.

In other regions, Galicia has launched a program offering up to 16,600 euros to companies to hire young workers, while Albacete has introduced internship scholarships for local graduates to facilitate their entry into the labor market.
