Madrid invests 120 million euros in housing rehabilitation

The Community of Madrid has launched a housing rehabilitation plan covering 7,768 homes across 41 municipalities, with an investment of approximately 120 million euros. The program focuses on improving energy efficiency and accessibility in older residential buildings through 17 Programmed Residential Rehabilitation Environments (ERRP).

Key areas of intervention include facade and roof insulation, replacing old energy systems, installing elevators, removing asbestos, and renovating common areas. The initiative aims to reduce energy consumption by up to 80%. Financial aid covers between 40% and 80% of total costs, with coverage reaching 100% for vulnerable households.

The highest number of participating homes are located in Fuenlabrada (1,420), Madrid capital (1,233), Torrejón de Ardoz (989), and Alcalá de Henares (666). The plan utilizes an urban regeneration model targeting entire neighborhoods rather than isolated buildings.
