Madrid invests 1.59 million euros to regenerate Habichuela park

The Madrid City Council is executing urban regeneration works at the Juan Carmona ‘Habichuela’ park, located in the northern area of the Colonia Casa de Campo. The project, part of the ‘Plan Regenera Madrid’ and initiated in January, involves an investment of approximately 1.59 million euros.

The intervention aims to revitalize 16,982 square meters of public space, serving as a primary access point to Casa de Campo from the Latina district. The works are expected to benefit 12,829 residents by transforming a degraded area into a safer, greener, and more accessible environment.

Key features of the project include the creation of seven interconnected areas linked by new accessible pedestrian routes. To improve environmental quality and climate comfort, the plan includes renaturalization efforts such as planting 111 new trees and 7,532 shrubs to increase biodiversity and provide shade.
