Madrid launches MADRIDdbp to automate urban planning licenses
The Madrid City Council has launched MADRIDdbp, a digital platform designed to automate the verification process for residential urban planning licenses. The system aims to accelerate project processing and improve legal certainty by using Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to cross-reference 3D project models with local urban regulations.
By allowing professionals to upload digital models, the platform can automatically check parameters such as building height, surface area, and required distances before formal submission. This initiative, supported by delegates Borja Carabante and Álvaro González, will initially be tested on large-scale residential developments involving over 124,000 homes. The goal is to reduce administrative delays and allow municipal technicians to focus on cases requiring complex technical judgment.
Separately, Planifica Madrid has opened a tender for the installation of a 20 kW photovoltaic self-consumption system at the Edificio Alcalá. The project, co-financed by European funds, has a base budget of 68,530 euros and aims to optimize the building's energy efficiency.
