Madrid mayors demand information on Titulcia waste plant

Mayors from several municipalities in southeastern Madrid have formed a coalition to demand transparency regarding a proposed waste management and energy recovery plant in Titulcia. The group, which includes representatives from Aranjuez, Ciempozuelos, San Martín de la Vega, Chinchón, and Villaconejos, has requested a formal meeting with the Regional Minister of Environment, Agriculture, and Interior, Carlos Novillo.

The mayors expressed concern over the potential environmental impact of the facility, which could process up to 300,000 tons of waste annually from across the Community of Madrid. In addition to seeking clarity from the regional administration on the status of environmental processing, the mayors have agreed to request all relevant documentation from the Titulcia City Council to allow municipal technicians to conduct a thorough analysis of the project.
