Madrid mobility disrupted by Formula 1 and transit works

Madrid is facing significant mobility challenges this week due to the simultaneous return of students to school and major infrastructure and event-related disruptions.

The return of Formula 1 to the city will cause major traffic restrictions around IFEMA and Valdebebas from September 10 to 14. Key affected areas include Ribera del Sena, Vía de Dublín, and Francisco Umbral. Access to the IFEMA area will be restricted to those with accreditation, and authorities recommend using public transport to avoid congestion on the M-40, M-11, and M-12 highways.

Additionally, public transport users should prepare for various service changes. Modernization works at Atocha Cercanías will cause closures on the L1 Metro line between Sol and Atocha on September 5 and 6, affecting the C-3 and C-4 lines. Other disruptions include scheduled strikes by the Railway Union and changes to the L6 line schedule.
