Madrid parties pressure Andalusian president Moreno over investiture talks

The Andalusian Statute of Autonomy is one of the most ambitious in Spain, but regional politics is being shaped by pressure from parties in Madrid. The People's Party (PP) and Vox are negotiating with President Juanma Moreno to secure a governing agreement, with PP figures such as Cuca Gamarra and Alma Ezcurra urging Moreno to reach a deal with Vox.

Vox’s Andalusian delegation is directed from Madrid by Ignacio Garriga, while spokesperson Manuel Gavira serves as the public face but lacks decisive authority. The talks aim to form a stable regional government ahead of upcoming national elections and reflect broader strategic calculations by both parties at the national level.
