The Spanish Court of Auditors has admitted a complaint filed by the Más Madrid parliamentary group regarding the purchase of a luxury penthouse in Chamberí by the Community of Madrid. The investigation focuses on the accountability of the transaction, which was carried out by the public company Planifica Madrid.

Opposition leaders have demanded full documentation of the purchase, arguing that the regional government is withholding essential information. In response, the regional government has scheduled a hearing for Minister Miguel Ángel García Martín on September 17 to discuss the management of Planifica Madrid.

Regional President Isabel Díaz Ayuso has defended her position, stating she was in the process of finalizing a private rental agreement for a different residence before the penthouse acquisition became a matter of public controversy. She has attributed the political backlash to the central government of Pedro Sánchez.
