Madrid Plan Vive allocates 75% of housing to residents under 35

The Community of Madrid has reported that three out of four housing units already allocated through the Plan Vive program have been assigned to individuals under the age of 35. This initiative is designed to facilitate youth emancipation by providing access to affordable rental housing.

Currently, 6,419 homes are available across 12 municipalities, including Madrid capital, Alcalá de Henares, Alcorcón, Boadilla del Monte, Colmenar Viejo, Getafe, Móstoles, Navalcarnero, Pinto, San Sebastián de los Reyes, Torrejón de Ardoz, and Tres Cantos. These residential developments feature one to three-bedroom apartments, parking spaces, and common areas. While the program primarily serves young people, it also includes families with children and seniors over 65.

The regional government plans to expand the program with 14,000 new properties distributed across 26 municipalities. Additionally, the Plan Vive Solución Joven specifically targets youth emancipation with the construction of approximately 5,500 homes.

To maintain community ties, over 76% of contracts were formalized based on a connection to the specific municipality, such as being a registered resident or having a workplace in the area. In locations like Alcorcón, Colmenar Viejo, Getafe, and Pinto, this figure approaches 100%.
