Madrid Pride 2026 generates record €1.124 billion in consumption

The 2026 Madrid Pride festival, held from June 26 to July 5, generated a record €1.124 billion in total consumption. This represents a significant increase from the €876.6 million recorded in 2025. Data provided by the Madrid City Council's Department of Economy, Innovation, and Finance indicates that international visitors accounted for 44% of total spending, while local residents contributed 30.8% and tourists from other Spanish regions accounted for 16.8%.

Among international travelers, visitors from Ireland and the United States were the highest spenders, representing 18.8% and 16.2% of foreign expenditure, respectively. Notably, Irish tourists had the highest average transaction value at €122.9, compared to €53.9 for Americans. Within Spain, visitors from Barcelona contributed the most at 9% of the total spending.

The expenditure was distributed across several sectors, with accommodation leading at 25.9%, followed by catering at 17.4%, department stores at 7.3%, and food at 7.2%. The average transaction value grew by 26% year-over-year, rising from €24.1 in 2025 to €30.4 in 2026.
