Madrid Prosecutor investigates YouTuber Iñaki Angulo for homophobic insults

The Madrid Provincial Prosecutor's Office has opened an investigation into content creator Iñaki Angulo for alleged homophobic insults directed at Real Betis footballer Héctor Bellerín. The investigation follows a complaint filed approximately one month ago by the Association for Transparency and Democracy in Sport, a legal action that has since gained the support of nearly one hundred individuals.

The incident occurred during a live YouTube broadcast where Angulo was analyzing a match between Real Betis and Real Madrid. During the stream, Angulo made derogatory comments regarding Bellerín’s appearance and personal tastes, specifically referencing that the player “paints his nails” and “only reads books by women.” The investigation aims to determine if these statements, which included homophobic slurs, constitute a crime against fundamental rights and public liberties.
