Madrid prosecutor seeks prison for employee in 860,000 euro fraud case

The Provincial Prosecutor's Office of Madrid is requesting an eight-year prison sentence for a former employee of a procuracy accused of embezzling 860,440 euros. The defendant, identified as Y. Y. C. C., allegedly diverted judicial payment orders into her own bank accounts, as well as those of her husband and minor son, instead of the intended legal recipients.

According to the prosecution, the fraud occurred between May 2018 and July 2020. The employee, who was responsible for visiting bank branches to process judicial payments in the Community of Madrid, allegedly manipulated payment orders by entering her own account numbers to obtain illicit financial benefits. The prosecution also alleges she fraudulently obtained 37,764.54 euros from the procuracy itself. Her husband is considered a participant for profit. The trial is scheduled to begin on November 3 at the Provincial Court of Madrid.
