Spain reports record summer tourism and updated healthcare waiting list data
Spain is seeing significant shifts in both its tourism and healthcare sectors. In the healthcare sector, updated data from the Ministry of Health regarding the National Health System (SNS) shows a slight increase in surgical waiting lists. The national average waiting time for surgery is 122 days, with 853,740 patients pending intervention. In Castilla-La Mancha, the regional government rectified its previous figures, reporting 36,491 patients on the waiting list with an average delay of 117 days, up from an initially communicated 92 days. The regional rate of 18.17 patients per 1,000 inhabitants is slightly higher than the national average.
