Several historic towns near Madrid are gaining popularity as seasonal travel destinations.

Colmenar de Oreja, a designated Historical-Artistic Site, is noted for its Plaza Mayor. The square features a Castilian style and is built over the Arco del Postigo tunnel to manage terrain elevation. The town also houses the Ulpiano Checa Museum, dedicated to the local painter known for works depicting Roman themes.

Patones de Arriba, located approximately 60 kilometers from the capital, has seen a surge in autumn bookings. The village is characterized by its unique architecture of dark slate, wood, and mud houses built into the Jarama valley slopes. This proximity to Madrid has transformed the location from a quiet hiking spot into a highly sought-after destination for weekend getaways.
