Madrid regional updates: Metro Line 10 reopens partially and industrial sales grow
Several regional developments are occurring in the Madrid area. On the Madrid Metro, Line 10 has partially reopened the section between Cuzco and Plaza de Castilla following the removal of asbestos and infrastructure improvements at Cuzco station. However, the segment between Nuevos Ministerios and Cuzco remains closed due to the ongoing remodeling of the Santiago Bernabéu station, with free shuttle buses operating until the end of the year.
In Torrejón de Ardoz, municipal swimming pools at the Juan Antonio Samaranch and Joaquín Blume complexes have extended their operating season until September 4. The city is also investing in various sports infrastructure projects, including a new football field and a large multi-sports pavilion, as part of its efforts to prepare for its designation as the European City of Sport 2026.
Economically, industrial sales in the Community of Madrid grew by 6.4% in June compared to the previous year. While this represents sustained growth for the year, the rate was lower than the national average of 9.2% for the same period.
