Madrid student groups protest Javier Milei's visit

Student, union, and political organizations in Spain have organized protests at the Universidad Rey Juan Carlos (URJC) in Madrid to oppose the visit of Argentine President Javier Milei.

Milei is scheduled to attend the opening of the ‘10th Annual Madrid Conference on Austrian Economics’ and participate in the presentation of a Master’s in Economics at the Austrian School, where he will meet with professor Jesús Huerta de Soto.

Protesters aim to pressure the university rectorate to either cancel the invitation or publicly distance itself from the Argentine head of state. Scheduled demonstrations include a concentration by the Organización Estudiantil Socialista (OES) at the campus library and a sit-in by the Plataforma URJC por la Pública, supported by the Communist Youth and the Communist Party in Madrid.
