Madrid to host Formula 1 Grand Prix in 2026

Spain will host two Formula 1 Grands Prix in 2026, marking a significant shift in the sport's regional presence. The Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya will host a race in June, while the new Madring urban circuit in Valdebebas, located near the IFEMA exhibition center, will host the Spanish Grand Prix from September 11 to 13.

The Madring project, which has a ten-year contract through 2035, represents the return of Formula 1 to Madrid for the first time since 1981. Organizers expect the inaugural Madrid event to attract approximately 350,000 spectators and generate an estimated economic impact of 467 million euros for the region, potentially creating up to 9,000 jobs.

The new semi-urban track is designed for high accessibility via public transport and its proximity to the airport. The event will also include Formula 2 and Formula 3 as support categories.
