Madrid to host inaugural Formula 1 Spanish Grand Prix in 2026

The 2026 Formula 1 season features the inaugural Spanish Grand Prix in Madrid, scheduled to take place from September 11 to 13, 2026. The new 5.470-kilometer circuit, located in the IFEMA area, is expected to host approximately 110,000 spectators during its debut year. The track features 22 curves, including a 35-degree banked turn similar to Indianapolis.

Due to conflicts in the Middle East, the original racing calendar was adjusted, resulting in the cancellation of races in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia. To compensate, an additional Grand Prix officially named the ‘Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix’ will be held at the Sepang Circuit in Malaysia on October 4.

In team news, the Audi Revolut F1 Team has gained momentum mid-season, accumulating 12 points in the team standings. German driver Nico Hülkenberg recently secured his first points for the team at the Hungaroring.
