Madrid to host International Potato Symposium

The 1st International Potato Symposium will take place in Madrid on October 5 as part of Fruit Attraction 2026. Organized by FEPEX in collaboration with Fruit Attraction and Europatat, the event aims to bring together producers, marketers, industry leaders, and institutions to analyze the current state and future of the European potato sector.

Key discussion topics will include European production and trade, plant health, the specific situation in Spain, and consumption trends. Peter Ton, president of Europatat, is scheduled to discuss the highly integrated European market. Additionally, representatives from CropLife Europe and Europatat will address plant health challenges and the availability of sustainable solutions to maintain competitiveness and ensure the continuity of community production.
