Madrid updates Abono Joven transport eligibility for regional residents
The Community of Madrid has updated the requirements for the 'Abono Joven' transport pass, which allows individuals aged 15 to 26 to travel unlimitedly within Madrid's tariff zones for 10 euros per 30 days. Following changes to the Personal Public Transport Card requirements, which necessitate proof of residence via registration in Madrid or specific municipalities in Castilla y León and Castilla-La Mancha, the regional government has established agreements with other autonomous communities to maintain access for students and university residents.
In the province of Segovia, the Regional Transport Consortium of Madrid (CRTM) has confirmed that residents of six specific municipalities can still access the pass: El Espinar, Navas de San Antonio, Ortigosa del Monte, Otero de Herreros, Segovia, and Villacastín. These locations are primarily situated along the N-VI corridor and the AP-6 and AP-61 highways. The updated list also includes municipalities from the provinces of Ávila, Cuenca, Guadalajara, and Toledo, in addition to all municipalities within the Community of Madrid.
