Madrid's new 'Madring' F1 street circuit set for September 2026
The 'Madring' circuit, a 5.47‑km street layout with 22 corners in Madrid’s IFEMA and Mad Cool festival area, will host the Spanish Grand Prix from 11 to 13 September 2026. Organisers say the circuit blends sport and entertainment, featuring a steep banked turn similar to Indianapolis and a finish line in the main IFEMA entrance. All 100,000 tickets released so far have been sold, and sponsorship revenue has already covered construction costs.
Lewis Hamilton, who tested the track during a Ferrari filming day, reported a dusty surface and minimal grip, suggesting the circuit may favor qualifying laps and present limited overtaking opportunities. IFEMA executive committee president José Vicente de los Mozos emphasised the event’s aim to provide a unique experience beyond a traditional race.
