Madring paddock showcases Spanish furniture design

Architect Teresa Sapey has designed a specialized paddock for the Formula 1 event in Madrid, serving as a showcase for Spanish furniture design. In collaboration with the Foro de Marcas Renombradas Españolas (FMRE), the space features over 50 pieces from various Spanish brands, including Fama, Cosentino, Actiu, KriskaDecor, Joquer, and Crevin.

The collection, valued at over 200,000 euros, includes custom-made items inspired by the racing circuit. Notable pieces include a table shaped like the track, a sofa inspired by the ‘La Monumental’ curve, and two five-meter diameter sun installations designed by KriskaDecor that utilize a red-to-yellow gradient to represent Spanish identity.

Sapey described the project as an effort to translate the energy of Formula 1—characterized by speed and technology—into a functional and comfortable space that remains distinct from traditional fairground environments.
