Mads Pedersen Secures Green Jersey in 2026 Tour de France

Danish rider Mads Pedersen mathematically clinched the points classification (green jersey) on the queen stage (Stage 20) of the 2026 Tour de France. He finished the stage with 527 points, a lead of 82 over Jasper Philipsen (445), and after winning the intermediate sprint on the Col de la Croix‑Fer he will win the green jersey if he completes the final Paris stage.

Pedersen became the first Danish cyclist ever to wear the Tour’s green jersey. His team, Lidl‑Trek, is also set to win the team classification. The concluding stage in Paris was shortened to 88.7 km because of forest fires and a police shortage.

With the points lead secured, Pedersen spoken about achieving a career goal and hopes to finish the race without further incident, which would also give him the chance to complete the rare Grand‑Tour points‑classification trifecta (Vuelta, Giro, Tour).
