Mads Pedersen retains green jersey after strong finish in Tour de France stage 7

Danish cyclist Mads Pedersen, riding for Lidl‑Trek, finished ninth in the largely flat stage 7 of the 2026 Tour de France. He earned 36 points in the intermediate sprints and at the finish, extending his lead in the points classification (the green jersey) to 75 points over his nearest rival Max Kanter of Astana.

Pedersen, the 2019 world road race champion, previously won stage 4 of this Tour and has a record of stage victories and points‑classification wins in Grand Tours. Born in Tølløse, Denmark, he is married with children and is regarded as one of the sport’s top sprinters and all‑rounders.
