Mads Pedersen withdraws from Vuelta a España due to illness
Lidl-Trek rider Mads Pedersen has withdrawn from the Vuelta a España following stage 10 due to illness. The Danish sprinter, who had previously secured a 4th place finish on stage 2 and 2nd place on stage 8, confirmed he would not start stage 11.
Pedersen expressed frustration with his recent form, noting that his physical condition prevented him from competing in the race finales. After finishing 163rd in stage 10, the team decided to prioritize his recovery to ensure he is prepared for the upcoming World Championships in Montreal. The team stated that Pedersen will now focus on making a full recovery to target his remaining season goals.
