Mads Svane Knudsen to undergo knee surgery

Danish handball playmaker Mads Svane Knudsen is scheduled to undergo knee surgery this Tuesday. Having dealt with knee issues since the playoffs in April, Knudsen had hoped intensive summer rehabilitation would prevent the need for surgery.

While the procedure is described as a minor intervention, the player expressed concern regarding his availability for the World Championship in January. The surgery will also cause him to miss a crucial national team training camp scheduled for later this autumn. Knudsen, who was part of the Danish team that won the European Championship earlier this year, is set to join Aalborg Håndbold in the summer of 2027.
