Madura United defeats Persib Bandung 1-0 in Super League
Madura United secured a 1-0 victory against Persib Bandung during the sixth week of the 2026/2027 Super League at the Gelora Madura Ratu Pamelingan Stadium in Pamekasan. The decisive goal was scored by Dimitar Mitkov in the 89th minute.
Despite Persib Bandung dominating possession and recording 21 shots, Madura United goalkeeper Angga Saputra maintained a clean sheet through several crucial saves. Persib coach Igor Tolic attributed the loss to a single defensive error and a lack of clinical finishing, noting that the team must quickly refocus on their upcoming match against Garudayaksa FC.
The win elevates Madura United to third place in the standings with 13 points, while Persib Bandung remains in sixth place with 10 points. The match also highlighted local culture, as supporters celebrated Hari Santri by wearing traditional sarongs and kopiah in the stands.
