Madurai: Potential shift of 15 AIADMK councillors to TVK

Reports suggest a potential political shift in Madurai, where 15 AIADMK councillors are considering joining the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK). This follows a trend of former AIADMK officials and administrators moving toward the TVK.

While key district leaders like Sellur Raju, R.P. Udayakumar, and V.V. Rajan have remained with AIADMK, some individuals have already made moves. Specifically, Madurai Corporation Treasurer Manakumar and student wing secretary Bharathipen have joined TVK, though they reportedly continue to function with a pro-TVK stance within the municipal council.

During a recent municipal council meeting, AIADMK opposition leader and MGR Youth Wing district secretary Solaiaja praised the TVK government and Law Minister Nirmalkumar for their investigation into municipal property irregularities. Solaiaja noted that while he remains in the opposition, he appreciates the decisive actions taken by the current administration.
