Mady Touré claims victory after CAS ruling on Senegalese football election

Following a ruling by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), Mady Touré has described the decision as a “major victory” in his legal dispute against the Senegalese Football Federation (FSF).

The CAS ruled that the FSF's electoral appeals commission could not have declared Touré's appeal inadmissible. The tribunal found that the initial decision was based on a “manifestly erroneous interpretation of the Electoral Code” and violated said code, necessitating that the commission rule on the actual irregularities reported.

Touré has requested that the commission provide a revised timeline for the procedure, stating that the debate regarding the regularity of the August 2025 presidential election is now “fully open.” His legal team reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring electoral transparency and the legitimacy of Senegalese football institutions.
