Mažeikiai launches drone technology project for youth

The Mažeikiai Children and Youth Multifunctional Center is launching a new initiative titled ‘Youth Technology Platform-Drone’ to enhance technological and entrepreneurial skills among local youth. The project aims to bridge the gap between regional opportunities and major cities by providing specialized training in modern technologies.

Targeting individuals aged 16 to 29, the program will involve 20 participants. The curriculum includes theoretical and practical drone technology training, a six-month internship in real-world environments, instruction on safe and legal piloting, and exploration of market applications in media and documentation. The project is scheduled to run from August 2026 to July 2027, with active training beginning in January 2027.

The total value of the platform is €33,932.58, with the majority of the funding provided by the European Union (€26,679.48) and the remainder supported by the Mažeikiai district municipality.
