Maekawa Ippa releases debut single ‘IPPA’ and music video
The musical duo Maekawa Ippa, consisting of RYUKI from MAZZEL and GOICHI from STARGLOW, has released their first original song titled ‘IPPA’. The track was first performed as a surprise during the BMSG FES’26 festival on October 10, 2026, followed by its official digital release and music video launch on October 11.
The song is described as a dark and energetic electronic hip-hop track incorporating elements of trap and rage. The accompanying music video, directed by Hideyuki Tanaka, focuses on the Japanese ‘Kaido Racer’ car custom culture that emerged in the 1970s and 80s.
To achieve a realistic aesthetic, the production utilized authentic period-correct clothing and seven real vehicles provided through cooperation with the ‘Dai Yankee Exhibition’. The video depicts a stylized version of youth, featuring settings such as gas stations, urban streets, and seaside locations.
