Maffi Racing withdraws from F4 CEZ championship
Maffi Racing, a leading team in the Central European Zone Formula 4 (F4 CEZ) championship, has announced its immediate withdrawal from the series. The decision follows the team's exit from the final race of the Brno weekend and means they will not participate in the season finale at the Hungaroring.
Team principal Danny Maffi cited a lack of fairness and transparency regarding decisions made by technical scrutineers and sporting stewards. Maffi stated that there has been an accumulation of decisions since the start of the championship that the team believes were inconsistent with technical and sporting regulations. Despite seeking reassurances that the Brno event would serve as a turning point for addressing these concerns, the team felt those expectations were not met.
The team emphasized that continuing would no longer align with their values or the best interests of their drivers, families, and partners, stating that “integrity will always be worth more than a trophy.” The withdrawal is particularly notable as the team's lead driver, David Walther, was tied for second in the overall standings at the time of the exit.
