Mafra PSD demands clarity on delayed PRR housing projects
The PSD (Social Democratic Party) in Mafra has requested urgent clarifications from the municipal executive regarding delays in housing projects funded by the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR). The party is seeking information on the current status of financing, adherence to execution schedules, and the specific dates when completed homes will be delivered to local families.
Following an announcement that PRR-related interventions would be completed between June and August 2026, the PSD noted that as of October 2026, it remains unclear how many homes have been finished or delivered. To address this, three PSD councilors have submitted a formal request to audit construction works and financial records to determine if project changes have resulted in increased municipal costs or reduced community funding.
The housing initiatives include the construction of 52 units in Ericeira and 24 in Encarnação, with subsequent approvals in 2024 for an additional 180 homes representing an investment exceeding 31 million euros.
