MAGA activists propose martial law to address election fraud concerns
Activists within the MAGA movement are publicly discussing extreme measures to intervene in the U.S. midterm elections if they perceive evidence of fraud. These proposals include the imposition of martial law, the suspension of the electoral process, and the seizure of ballots and election equipment.
According to reports citing Axios, several individuals promoting these ideas have had direct access to Donald Trump. Among them is Tina Peters, an activist previously convicted of offenses related to election equipment tampering, and her lawyer, Peter Ticotin. Ticotin has suggested that martial law would be necessary to investigate potential irregularities.
Legal experts note that such actions would exceed the constitutional authority of the U.S. President. Furthermore, there is currently no evidence to support claims of impending widespread election fraud. While these discussions have gained political significance due to the activists' proximity to Trump, they do not represent official government policy.
