Magallanes authorities conduct cargo transport inspections

Authorities in the Magallanes region have conducted joint operations targeting national cargo transport to ensure regulatory compliance and road safety. The inspections were carried out by the Seremi of Transport and Telecommunications and the Internal Revenue Service (SII), with support from Carabineros and other agencies.

During a recent operation on Route 9 North, officials verified professional driver licenses, technical inspections, circulation permits, and cargo documentation. So far this year, 18 joint operations with the SII have been conducted in Punta Arenas and Laguna Blanca, resulting in 1,483 controls and 221 citations to the Local Police Court. Additionally, 186 inspections regarding seatbelt use in interurban buses led to 17 citations.
