Magallanes implements adolescent criminal responsibility training

The Juvenile Social Reinsertion Service of Magallanes has trained more than 400 students regarding the Adolescent Criminal Responsibility Law. Through the Office of Information, Complaints, and Suggestions (OIRS), technical officials have visited educational institutions to disseminate information regarding Law No. 20.084, which regulates offenses committed by adolescents aged 14 to 18.

This preventive initiative is being conducted in collaboration with the Carabineros-Magallanes Community Integration office as part of the Public Security Communal Plan for Punta Arenas and Puerto Natales. Regional Director César Montiel stated that promoting knowledge of the law is essential for strengthening prevention and respect for legal rights and duties, helping youth understand the legal consequences of their actions.

The territorial deployment aims to reach all communes in the region to provide orientation and education, operating under the principle that social reinsertion contributes to increased public security.
