Magatzems del Pilar to close after more than a century in Barcelona

Magatzems del Pilar, an iconic textile shop in Barcelona’s Gothic Quarter, is set to close its doors after more than a century of operation. Located at Boqueria 43, the establishment specialized in home textiles and has been a landmark in the neighborhood since its founding in 1913.

The closure was announced by the owners, who represent the fifth generation of the family to manage the business. The family stated that after 113 years, they have decided to close this chapter of their lives. The shop’s final day of operation will be Friday, October 16.
