Magda Szubanski to discuss new memoir at Sydney Opera House

Australian comedian Magda Szubanski has announced an upcoming public appearance at the Sydney Opera House on October 4 to discuss her new memoir, ‘I Can’t Tell You But I Will’. The book, scheduled for release at the end of September, explores the complexities of mother-daughter relationships through the lens of Szubanski caring for her mother, Margaret, during her final days.

Szubanski described the experience of caregiving as ‘simultaneously one of the most brutal, beautiful, privileged experiences of one’s life’. The memoir is expected to cover both the emotional challenges of end-of-life care and moments of laughter and tears.

The announcement follows Szubanski’s recent health updates; the comedian previously shared that she is in remission after battling stage 4 mantle cell lymphoma, a rare and aggressive form of blood cancer.
