Magdalena Sobkowiak-Czarnecka and Sławomir Mentzen exchange words at economic congress

During the V Congress ‘Dialog o Gospodarce’ in Warsaw, Deputy Minister of National Defense Magdalena Sobkowiak-Czarnecka challenged Confederation politician Sławomir Mentzen to participate in ‘wGotowości’, a series of free military training sessions organized by the Ministry of National Defense. The training covers security, medicine, and survival skills.

Mentzen declined the immediate proposal, stating he did not fully understand the nature of the training and would not ‘make a circus of himself’ or perform ‘acrobatics’ for the media. The exchange drew comments from other politicians, including Radosław Sikorski.

Following the event, Sobkowiak-Czarnecka criticized Mentzen’s reaction in a radio interview, calling him an ‘irresponsible boor’ for comparing the challenge to a circus. Social media users also noted that a video clip of the interaction published by the minister appeared to be edited, as it omitted Mentzen’s subsequent comments to journalists regarding the proposal.
