Poland women's volleyball beats Bulgaria, Ukraine as Stysiak tops 1200 points

Poland's women's volleyball team opened the second week of the 2026 Volleyball Nations League in Bangkok with a 3‑0 victory over Bulgaria on June 17, winning the sets 25‑12, 25‑22 and 25‑23. Outside hitter Magdalena Stysiak broke the 1,200‑point barrier, finishing with 1,207 points – the fourth‑highest total in VNL history, behind only Ebrar Karakurt, Britt Herbots and Brayelin Martinez. She said after the match, "I didn’t find my rhythm, but the win is what matters."

The following day the Poles faced Ukraine, taking the match 3‑1 despite dropping the third set 22‑25. Coach Stefano Lavarini noted the team's inconsistency, urging "greater regularity" and better attack execution. Player Monika Lampkowska echoed the need for focus, stating, "We lack stability in the closing stages; we must work on concentration and patience." The win kept Poland near the top of the VNL standings and set up upcoming matches against the Netherlands and Canada.
