Magdeburg Cathedral bell premiere to showcase CREDAMUS casting

The Domglockenverein Magdeburg has announced the premiere of a new film documenting the creation and casting of the CREDAMUS, the largest and heaviest bronze bell in an evangelical cathedral worldwide. The film premiere is scheduled for September 2 at 7 PM at the OLI Kino in Magdeburg.

The CREDAMUS is also the second heaviest bronze bell in Germany, following the 'Dicker Pitter' of the Cologne Cathedral. The documentary, produced by Professor Lampe and his team, provides a behind-the-scenes look at the complex casting process at the Grassmayr foundry in Innsbruck, covering stages from heating the bronze to the final delivery in Magdeburg.

The Domglockenverein Magdeburg, founded in 2018, has grown to over 300 members and has overseen eight bell castings to date as part of the project to equip the Magdeburg Cathedral with a new set of bells.
