Magen David Adom treats over 3,300 people during Yom Kippur
Magen David Adom (MDA) reported treating 3,322 people across Israel during Yom Kippur, with 2,268 individuals evacuated to hospitals. Among those treated, 368 people experienced fainting, dehydration, or other illnesses related to fasting.
Emergency services also responded to various accidents and incidents. Nearly 300 people were injured in accidents involving bicycles, scooters, and other personal transport. The holiday period also saw three fatalities: two in traffic accidents and one in a violent incident. Additionally, MDA teams assisted 155 women in labor, including five births assisted by paramedics.
Other notable incidents included a two-year-old boy being hospitalized in serious condition with burns covering 60% of his body following a portable gas canister explosion during a camping trip. In Carmel Park, firefighters successfully contained a forest fire near Daliyat al-Karmel before it reached residential areas.
