Magenta residents protest proposed data center campus

Protests continue in Magenta against the establishment of a large-scale campus consisting of five data centers in the historic ex-Novaceta area. Local citizens held a peaceful demonstration in front of the Municipal Palace to voice concerns regarding the potential environmental and urban impacts of the project.

Organizers reported collecting 1,791 signatures in Magenta, along with hundreds more from neighboring municipalities such as Vittuone and Rho. The committee has also submitted six formal observations to the PGT (Territorial Government Plan) to contest excessive land consumption. Protesters expressed dissatisfaction with the local administration, accusing officials of being evasive regarding resident concerns.

A public assembly is scheduled for November 8 at the Ideal in Magenta to coordinate with local movements and advocate for a regional moratorium on new data center developments.
