Magetan Health Dept Reduces Stunting Cases Through ACS Program

The Magetan District Health Office (Dinkes Magetan) has rolled out the Action to Prevent Stunting (ACS) program, a central‑government initiative implemented with local authorities, academia and international partners. The pilot began in Desa Jabung, served by Puskesmas Panekan and the regional hospital RSUD dr Sayidiman. Through ACS, the number of stunted children in the village fell from 43 to 23 between 2022 and 2023.

Data from the district show the overall stunting prevalence dropped from 30.2% in the 2018 national health survey to 10.4% in the 2024 Indonesian Nutrition Status Survey. The program has expanded to all 22 puskesmas in Magetan, with new referral agreements signed with several hospitals, including RS Paru Manguharjo Madiun, RSUD dr Soedono Madiun and RSU Aisyiyah Ponorogo. Continuous training for health workers aims to improve early detection, education and rapid response to stunting cases.
